No more doubts: what is liposomal glutathione? Liposomal glutathione is a specialized form of glutathione, an antioxidant fundamental to the health of our body. The body naturally produces glutathione, essential in protecting against oxidative stress and balancing the immune system (Meister A et al., 1193). However, its oral absorption is limited, which may compromise its therapeutic benefits. Liposomal glutathione appears as a promising alternative to overcome this limitation. It encapsulates glutathione within liposomes, tiny spheres composed of lipid layers (Monti D et al., 2013). This liposomal structure protects glutathione during the digestive process and allows it to be more efficiently absorbed by the body. The advantage of liposomal glutathione lies in its greater bioavailability compared to conventional glutathione (Richie JP Jr. et al., 2015). This means it is better absorbed and used by the body, enhancing its antioxidant and protective effects. In conclusion, liposomal glutathione is an advanced form of glutathione, which offers more excellent antioxidant and protective effects, which play an essential role in overall health and well-being. We will explore this topic further in the following text, exploring its specific applications and scientific evidence! ➤ Bibliographic References: Monti D, Travelli C, Bachetti T, et al.
